Garlic Chili Oil

Amp up any recipe by replacing your normal olive or vegetable oil with this garlic chili oil. Stir frys, sautées, salads, or simply on a piece of bread, this garlic chili oil is sure to become one of your pantry essentials.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Serves: 6


  • 1 head of garlic

  • 1-2 fresno, serrano, or thai chili peppers

  • 500 ml. neutral oil (grapeseed, sesame, or canola works well)

  • 2 tbsp red pepper flakes


  • Peel and finely chop 1 whole garlic head

  • finely slice hot peppers

  • Place a fry pay on medium heat and pour in neutral oil

  • Add garlic, sliced peppers, and 2 tbsp of red chilli flakes

  • Seduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 20- 25 minutes until garlic is just browned

  • Strain oil into a large bowl (keep the fried garlic and pepper for an amazing garnish!)

  • Let cool then pour oil back into serving bottle for storage
